The Falcon’s Flight
September 8 -12, 2025

Hello Skyridge Families!
As the heat finally begins to relent and Fall slowly approaches, we are also settling into the groove of two solid months of learning ahead of us (without holiday breaks.)  I’m very proud of our students; as the freshness of school fades, they are showing themselves to be up for the task of following the expectations of their new grade levels.  In addition to the concentrated time of learning, we’re looking forward to all the fun firsts that these months hold for us: field trips, middle school dance, award assemblies, and so much more! Here’s to a great Fall season!
Enjoy your weekend Skyridge!
Mrs. Aday, Skyridge Principal

Independent/Travel Studies
Please note that missed school days, even with an Independent Study, are counted toward a student’s overall absenteeism, and may result in automatically generated attendance letters and required meetings with school administration. Even if the school office is informed of the absences in advance and the student receives work from the teacher to complete while they’re away, there is no substitute for the learning that takes place in class, in person.  We encourage families to take advantage of the various school breaks that are built into our school year calendar for traveling and other extended time away from school.  (See: English School Calendar, Spanish School Calendar.)

Data Confirmation
If you have received messages from the school office that your Aeries Data Confirmation needs to be completed, but you're having problems with Aeries, please contact our Community Liaison, Lori Murphy, for assistance (in English or Spanish.) She would be happy to sit down with you in the office or over the phone to complete the process together. Email: lmurphy@auburn.k12.ca.us. Thank you for completing this necessary step so that our school and district offices can better serve you.
Literacy

The new countywide initiative Placer County Reads is kicking off with Blankets and Books, a free family event on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm at PCOE Headquarters (1400 W. Stanford Ranch Rd., Rocklin). This celebration was designed to make reading engaging and accessible for families of all ages, while highlighting our county’s commitment to literacy.

Please save the date!
Skyridge Jog-a-thon is on Friday, October 24!
Skyridge Jog-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year. The Jog-a-thon raises the funds needed for enrichment activities, clubs and events for the entire school year. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to pay for activities our students love, such as Dance Club, the Science Carnival, Art and Garden programs.
We are seeking business sponsors for the Skyridge Jog-a-thon. Each student will receive an event shirt and we must finalize the design by the end of September. If you would like to support Skyridge students and see your business logo printed on the shirt, please let us know as soon as you can! Businesses will also be featured on social media posts and on signs on campus. Please see this letter for more information. Thank you to those businesses who have pledged their support for classroom resources and student enrichment activities; we are so grateful!
Please reach out with any Jog-a-thon related questions: Sarah Brichler, brichler@gmail.com, 602-501-8696.
